Dear Dr. Thomas
I am young soprano and I have this small point (I added a Photo)in my Vocal fold. I already heard so many things about this that I have, and I would like to know your opinion.
I think that I have this point since last year, after I had a very strong swell...and i was singing with it until now. But I think now is a bit bigger than before.
One doctor told me that is better that I operate this "Polyp" with laser because is better for the vibration of my Vocal folds and will be easier to sing....and is better because maybe it can explotes...and I have to prevent. She wants to close the small vein with laser and take out the "polyp".
Another doctor told me that no....dont operate....that is stupid because is only one small point that doesnt affect my singing.
Actually I could sing with this...and nobody can notice it, but I feel that I get tired very fast when I after 40 mins...I am tired...and sometimes I need to push because my chords are not together like I need it. And I feel that the sound doesnt come inmediatly when I start a A.
Does this point can affect my singing????? is that ectasia? or is a polyp???
If it would be better to is dangerous?? Can my voice change??
Please help me! I dont know what to do now:(
Thank u very much.
I will really appreciate your opinion,
Waiting for your response,

Sorry that I could not find your image to review. Looking at an endoscopic video is also more helpful than a photo. One can also take an endoscopic video of the vocal cords both before and after 40 minutes of singing and see if the spot of concern has changed.
