Laryngeal Photos: Nonorganic disorders

Other than non-organic asthma, most non-organic disorders are difficult to visualize as they are disorders of function rather than disorders of structure.

Nonorganic asthma Nonorganic asthma is a disorder where wheezing sounds are generated in the wind pipe by breathing out with so much force that the soft wall of the trachea collapses and creates a whistling sound. The left photo is of a normal wind pipe. The right photo shows the collapse of the soft part of the trachea, partially blocking off the airway.
