Laryngeal Photos: Muscular disorders (bowing)

Vocal cord bowing Bowing of the vocal folds results from underuse and atrophy of the muscle used for phonation. When photos are taken at the moment just before entrainment of the vocal folds with speaking, bowing can be quite evident.
