Poetry

by Jimelle

The Rose Festival Starlight run
offers a chance to let everyone young
sample that which they never knew
unless to Scotland they did hew.

Never elected jock of the year,
Never elected prom queen,
Never ran for student office,
Now a taste of the satin scene.

Success defined in so many ways.
with high school such an ego filled maze.
Adulthood brings such a release from care,
Do now what teenagers would only have dared.
