| Our side of the story
Morgan: We have had to let mommy and daddy know that we are real people this year. Sometimes adults need some persuading. They tend to think of you as; once a baby, always a baby. Sydney: This year we began to get ourselves to school. We ride a large yellow bus in the morning. We still let mom or dad watch us go. We pick out our own clothing to wear and it really should be from Kids Gap so that it is the right style. We tell dad that we really dont have to eat everything on our plate just because he licked his plate clean in Outward Bound. You know parents - they walked ten miles to school and it was uphill both ways, yada, yada, yada. We help mom with the laundry. She does it and we fold it, sometimes we even put it away. We rather enjoy our yard and get dad out for a walk every now and again. Morgan: HGTV (Home & Garden TV) is our favorite cable station where we learn what a beautiful home looks like in each and every room. We pass ideas along to mom. Other than that station, TV is pretty boring. Really, we dont even like scary movies or scary books like Rapunzel. About the only time we watch much video is during road trips in the van. Sydney: At school we are in first grade in the same class. We check out two books from the school library where mom volunteers every week. Morgans favorite author is Dr. Seuss. I enjoy reading the funny poetry and listening to the CD Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. We also practice art in the style of the Haida Indians, Picasso, Van Gogh & Matisse. Morgan: We learned to ski last winter, taking two lessons. Dad had bought a helmet in Utah because he skis in the woods. Sydney followed dad off into the woods one time and mom, realizing our skills, bought us helmets too. I like to hang with mom in the middle of the runs, preferably powder filled. We have our own Motorola Talkabouts to keep tabs on the folks if they get lost in the woods. |
